Search engine marketing
SEM is short, used in Romanian, of English term Search Engine Marketing, meaning in translation search engine marketing (Internet).
SEM is a subset of online marketing dealing with changing position of a site in the results (lists, hit list, SERPs – Search Engine Result Pages) of search engines and / or by displayingpaid advertisements that appear next to results.
SEO techniques belong to the practice of SEM, but the two terms are still different. SEM can mean: type advertising such as Pay-Per-Click, paid links (links), classical advertising (through banners, pictures of type GIF etc.).
